Philadelphia is the “City of Brotherly Love,” but I would like to formally rename it the “City of Food.” Now, more than ever, Philly is bustling with millennials and millennial businesses. This means that there are trendy restaurants, cafes, and take-out spots popping up all over the place. Follow along for a list of five trendy restaurants you just have to try during your summer vacation.
The Love: This restaurant, right by Rittenhouse Square park, has beautiful décor and a creative menu. The cocktails, food, and service are incredible, which explains the hoard of regulars who stop by every day. When you visit, be sure to try the spaghetti and lobster dish. Even though pasta topped with lobster bisque sounds strange, it truly is one of the BEST pasta dishes I have ever had.
A. Kitchen & Bar: Just a stone’s throw from The Love, A. Kitchen & Bar is an adorable spot, especially for their cocktails. When I go out to eat, I will, without fail, order a pinot grigio. But the cocktail menu had such a special lineup of seasonal cocktails that I had to branch out (and it was worth it!!)
Marathon On the Square: Rittenhouse Square really has got it going on! Around the corner from both The Love and A. Kitchen & Bar is Marathon On the Square. I met up with an old college friend for brunch and we had a wonderful meal with mimosas, soups, and sandwiches.
Tequilas: On my way home from work every day, I pass Tequilas which is always crowded with happy customers. This restaurant takes Mexican food to the next level with interesting flavors and fancy plating.
Assembly: This rooftop bar is now the talk of the town because of it’s stunning view of the Benjamin Franklin Parkway. Be sure to stop by for drinks during ~golden hour~ or sunset for the perfect insta pic. You won’t regret it!!
